With 4 straight wins & 3 of them ending in overtime, the Springfield Xtreme find themselves on top in the HTJHL standings!
The Xtreme first went into St Adolphe, played a perfect game plan and pulled off a big win!
With goals from Tyler Chapko, Trevor Wiemer, and a game winner from Riley Darragh, the Xtreme handed the Hawks their first regulation loss of the season. Rookie: Riley Darragh came away with a great 2 point effort and the “Hard Helmet” player of the game award.
Next, the Springfield Xtreme went back to the Oakbank One Insurance Arena to beat the tough Red River Mudbugs in overtime, and then on to Steinbach to beat the Huskies also in overtime. 4th year Veteran: Evan Hanson came through in both games with the game winning goals in overtime.
Finally the Xtreme returned last night to the Oakbank One Insurance Arena and continued the overtime magic!
Playing a well disciplined Lorette Comets, the Xtreme were able to battle through penalty trouble and take the game into a shoot-out for the win.
Ethan McDuffe scored the game winning goal of the shoot-out with an unbelievable move to close out the win. Battling penalty trouble and stepping up in a big way, Jacob Daniels was awarded player of the game.
Come out and cheer on your Springfield Xtreme when they return to Steinbach on Dec. 10 to face a win-less Steinbach Huskies squad.
